Evergreen plants

An evergreen plant keeps its foliage year-round, unlike a deciduous one that sheds its leaves in autumn — an advantage for a hedge that needs to stay opaque in winter, or a garden that shouldn't look bare out of season. They generally need pruning to keep their shape, done outside frost periods and, for flowering varieties, after blooming.
