Description
Carpinus betulus, known as the common hornbeam, is perfect for creating a natural, dense hedge. Its oval green leaves turn yellow to brown in autumn, and some foliage often persists in winter, providing added privacy. This fast-growing shrub tolerates pruning well, suitable for both formal and informal hedges. Delivered bare root, it adapts to most well-drained soils and is best planted from October to April. Plant 4 to 5 per linear meter for a full hedge.
